What a crizzaizy Spring!
Holy shit it’s been a crazy spring. First off, Kristen is expecting our first child! We are so damn excited…and nervous…but damn excited. She is about 4 1/2 months along and is due late November (Sagittarius). We don’t know the sex of the baby yet but our next appointment’s ultrasound is when we’ll find out. Honestly, I could wait ’til the baby is born to know the sex…but Kristen want sto know and it’d be too retarded to try and have her keep it a secret.Sarah and I also ran in the Fifth Third 5K Run in early May and rocked a personal best, 25min. Not too bad for a fatty
. Since then I’ve been training for the LaSalle Reeds Lake 10K Run. I ran in this one last year and I know I’m gonna destroy my previous time. Although, my running motivation has been waining
. I think it’s the 60hr/wk job I’ve got going on the side that throwing me off.Let’s see, what else. I was able to convince my mom to purchase a MacBook rather than some junky laptop. Damn is that machine sweet. I’ve only had one support call from her so far, otherwise, she’s been very satisfied. One family member down, 5 more to go..yeehaw!I bought a John Deere LA120 Riding Lawnmower with a snow plow attachment and bagging assembly…and it kicks holy ass. It’s an automatic and mows like a champ. I’m really stoked to use the bagging assembly this fall for the billions of leaves I have to rake every flippin’ fall and the snow plow this winter to alleviate my poor neighbor from plowing my driveway with his 4-wheeler.We also dropped our SBC phonelines and signed up for Comcast Digital Phone. Yeah, I’m tired if giving Comcast money but, damn, SBC was just overpriced and worthless. We’ve not had a single problem with our digital phone and I really like it so far. Honestly, I rather just use cell phones but unfortunately our reception really sucks in the house
.Well, I guess that its for now…peace.

Irish Jik 5k 2007
Woo hoo! This race was a blast. I’ve participated in only two other races and this by far had the most people. It was also…frickin’ freezing. That’s always the worst part of any of the races. They all start off early in the morning….the coldest part of the day.Kristen, Saif, Amanda, John and I all ran and….I think every single one of us reached our personal best times. I know I freaked out see my time. I ran an 8:49 minute pace. This is ridiculous knowing that a year ago…I was at a 12 min pace. Kristen also did her personal best even after coming off a 2 week sickness and limited training. Here’s wishing good luck to all in meeting or exceeding their training goals this summer….Steve and Chris…you guys can guard the beer tents!

Grand Rapids Marathon 2006
Kristen and Amanda successfully completed in the 2006 Grand Rapids Marathon. They both ran the 1/2 marathon event with excellent times. The weather forecast was Partly Sunny, 44 degrees, and…24 mph winds. Saif, Sara, John and I braved the cold, winding weather to cheer these two crazy ladies on. Great job, ladies. I really proud of you.

Let’s Run Already!
Kristen and her girlfriend Amanda will be running the 1/2 marathon in tomorrow’s Grand Rapids Marathon event. They’ve been training for a couple months now and they are simply ready for it to be over with. It has been an unusually cold and wet October making for miserable running weather. Although it is going to be very windy tomorrow, the tempurature will be bareable as well as….no rain.Good Luck, Kristen and Amanda.

Grand Rapids Bridge Run 2006
Saif and I finished the 10 mile Bridge Run yesterday. It was an awesome run under some excellent weather. Saif, of course, finished with vey good time; completeing the run in ~1hr 16min. Not only did I finish…yeah… but I also made my goal of averaging a 10 minute mile.I kinda knew I would be able to finish the race but, damn, was it hard. Between the 7 and 8 mile markers, I thought my quads were going to explode off of my legs. Oh my lord! There not much you can do but simply deal with it. From a respitory standpoint, I was money. It was just the pain in my legs that I struggled with. Something for me to work on…Kristen took some photos so I’ll be tossing a couple of pics up shortly.

Reeds Lake Triathalon 2006
Kristen and Saif both successfully kicked butt in their first triathalon. They were 2 out of a 1000+ participants in the Reeds Lake Triathalon…and it was cold. We arrived at ~6:30am in order to find a decent staging spot. It was still dark, a bit drizzily, and freezing (~60 degrees). There was a wide spectrum of people participanting in the race and everyone was supportive and gun-ho. It made for an awesome atmosphere. After seeing how the event works and how awesome everybody was…I’m pysched to do a triathalon. So, next goal is to start training on the swimming, becasue that by far seemed to be the most difficult for everyone. I’ll be putting more photo up on the Schaveyhaus Flickr site.
